Diego Collarana, PhD
Dr. Diego Collarana is a Senior Research Engineer and Co-Director of the ICI institute. He has more than 15 years of experience conceptualizing and developing enterprise information systems using state-of-the-art technologies, i.e., Knowledge Graphs and Deep Learning. Additionally, he serves as component manager and team leader “Knowledge Graphs” at Fraunhofer IAIS. He received a master’s diploma (double degree Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Technische Universität Kaiserslautern) in Software Engineering. He obtained a Ph.D. (Magna Cum Laude) at the University of Bonn on Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Collarana’s experience allows him to solve complex problems in enterprises, including knowledge representation and integration, linked data, and conversational assistants. He is the founder of several open-source projects, including MINTE, a semantic integration technique that allows companies to go from heterogeneous data to actionable knowledge.
Lesly Zerna, MsC
Lesly is our Innovation and Research Leader, she is an outstanding professional in ITC and Innovation. Lesly completed her studies in Telecommunications Engineering in Bolivia and Computer Science in Belgium. In 2016, Lesly worked as intern at the AI and Robotics labs in Politecnico di Milano, Italy, since then, she has been very enganged about learning/using Artificial Intelligence in her projects. In 2019, she got accepted at the Google Developer Expert program in the Machine Learning field, the same year, she started promoting training in AI for young girls in Bolivia. Lesly also teaches Data Science and Machine Learning in different universities in Bolivia, for grad and undergrad students, as well as leading tech innovation projects for the public sector in the country.
